About Chemical Peels@headingTag>
Like everything else in life, human skin needs maintenance. A single VI Peel will achieve significant repair and add a healthy glow to the skin. It is a true, restorative, and painless repair of damaged skin including sun damage and acne. The VI Peel produces dramatic results without the deeper, more painful approach of traditional chemical peels, which is why double board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Suzanne Trott chose the VI Peel for her Beverly Hills, CA practice. The many innovations that created the VI Peel combine to enable the entire continuum of skin types to enjoy the benefits of the peel. For the first time, Afro-American and darker skin types such as some Asian and Latin skins can experience anti-aging and restorative skin care that was previously unavailable. The VI Peel’s wonderful results will last as long as skin care is maintained, sun exposure is moderate, and preventive aging with the VI Peel is performed 3 or 4 times per year. In between, skin care is maintained and optimized with an appropriate home care program designed for your skin. Schedule a treatment or consultation at Suzanne A. Trott, MD, FACS.
"Dr. Trott has changed my life! I found her by getting recommendations from about 4 girlfriends who had the same procedure I was going in for. All were happy with their results, so I knew she was definitely someone I wanted to meet with. As soon as I met her for my initial consultation, I knew she was the surgeon for me. She is beyond friendly and warm and I knew I would be in good hands. She really took her time with me, showing me additional photos, thoroughly explaining the procedure to me. Aside from me really liking her work, I was happy with the fact that she only performs one surgery a day so she can take her time. I had met with another surgeon who would have slotted me as his 4th surgery for the day. Her surgical team is amazing, I didn't have one complication. She came to visit me at the aftercare facility and makes herself available to her patients by cellphone. Addy, her office manager, is so friendly and helpful. I am still healing but am already so happy with the results! Everyone I know tells me how amazing I look and that the work looks so natural. I literally cannot say enough good things about Dr. Trott. She is THE BEST!!!"- S.S. / Yelp / Jan 05, 2018
"Dr. Trott is incredible! She came highly recommended from my OBGYN. If you have any questions about a procedure, book a consultation, she and her team will go over EVERYTHING and answer every single question you have (and I had a lot). I felt very confident about my surgery, what to expect before and after, and what the recovery would be like. I am so happy with my results and have never felt more confident!"- L.D. / Google / Feb 13, 2019

"Dr. Trott is a patient-centered doctor, who greets you with a hug rather than a formal handshake (assuming you are open to a hug, of course...) and takes every pre- and postoperative precautionary measure to make sure that everything go smoothly. I compared her "look book" to many surgeons in the area, and she got the most natural looking results."- E.V. / Yelp / Feb 08, 2019
"The best liposuction by the Lipoqueen - Dr Trott is the absolute best! She fixed my botched body from previous Lipo and made it look better than ever. She cares and feels responsible for her patients being happy with their results. She had to go through endless scar tissue to fix the botch job I had years ago. No easy task and every other surgeon gave up after charging me thousands of dollars. Not, Dr. Trott! She’s an artist who m..."- M. / RealSelf / Feb 01, 2019
Types of Chemical Peels@headingTag>
There are several types of chemical peels offered by our office. The strength used will be determined based on the skin condition of the patient, as well as the aesthetic goals and desired downtime. Our office offers the following peels:
- Superficial/Light Peel: This is the mildest chemical peel. It is performed in a matter of minutes with only about 3 – 5 days downtime of peeling. During this peel, only the top layer of skin is removed, which causes the skin to immediately look smoother, more even toned, and brighter. These peels are usually comprised of alpha hydroxyl or beta hydroxyl acid, along with salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid. Usually, multiple treatments are recommended to get the best possible results.
- Medium Depth Peel: This peel goes deeper than a light peel and therefore, provides more dramatic results. This particular peel is usually derived from Trichloroacetic acid (known as TCA); it is a type of acid that penetrates deeper into the skin. A medium depth peel is used to treat hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and sun damage. Since the peel goes deeper, a patient can expect a longer recovery period and should plan ahead since the face can be swollen, itchy and red for about 10 days following the treatment.
- Deep Peel: This is the strongest chemical peel is the deep peel and is used for deep scarring, excessive wrinkles, and more serious skin irregularities. While these peels promise the most dramatic results, a patient can be quite shocked by his or her appearance immediately following the procedure. High-strength TCA or carbolic acid, or phenol, is used to penetrate the deeper layers of skin. Since this peel is more invasive, some form of anesthesia may be used. Following the peel, the skin will be intensely red comparable to a severe sunburn. The entire face will be swollen and then scab. Intense peeling will occur and the downtime could last 3 – 4 weeks, or longer.
What to Expect@headingTag>
Regardless of the peel used, the overall procedure is similar. The skin will be cleansed thoroughly and the chemical solution will be applied to the face. This process takes just a few minutes and a handheld fan is used to help decrease discomfort. During a light peel, the skin will tingle during treatment. A medium peel will produce a bit more discomfort, and a deep peel will require a numbing agent or anesthesia. The differences between the peels are the type of solution used, the number of steps taken during the actual procedure, as well as the amount of solution that is applied. A soothing ointment will be applied to the skin after the treatment. In the days that follow, the skin will begin to naturally flake and peel away.
Patients should avoid picking at the skin or trying to speed up the peeling process in any way because this can result in scarring. Patients should avoid sun exposure and keep their skin protected at all times. Patients will need to have regular chemical peel treatments to maintain their results.
